Since its founding, Briarwood Folk has stood as a sanctuary for the supernatural youth of Massachusetts, fostering both tradition and progress within the historic town of Briarwood. What began as a single schoolhouse now encompasses a distinguished network of campuses across the state, supported by charitable initiatives that ensure education remains accessible to all—regardless of species, dynamic, or magical inclination.
Briarwood Folk takes pride in fostering a close-knit, symbiotic relationship between our institution and the greater supernatural community. Our students uphold a tradition of service, dedicating their talents to supporting Briarwood County through outreach programs, volunteer initiatives, and collaborative partnerships with local organizations.
Whether through blood donation drives benefiting our vampiric neighbours, environmental conservation efforts led by merfolk and earthbound fae, or educational outreach to young supernaturals, B.F.U. students exemplify the values of responsibility and unity.

B.F.U. offers a diverse range of accredited programs designed to meet the unique needs of our supernatural student body. Our interdisciplinary approach blends modern academics with magical studies, ensuring graduates are prepared for both professional careers and the complexities of supernatural society.

Athletics define much of Briarwood’s identity. The Panthers basketball team is the university’s crown jewel, playing in the roaring Den Arena, a state-of-the-art indoor stadium engineered with acoustics that amplify crowd energy to an almost primal level. Not far from the arena is Frost Rink, home of the Wolves ice hockey team. Built partially below ground, the rink maintains a natural chill, and its sleek, steel-and-ice build gives it an almost predatory elegance. Beyond these, Briarwood boasts extensive sports facilities: multi-level training complexes, climbing walls for arboreal demi-humans, aquatic centres for amphibious students, and open-field tracks designed for high-speed species.

“The Warrens” – Fraternity & Social Row
Instead of a traditional frat row, Briarwood’s social housing district is known as The Warrens. The name reflects both its layout—interconnected houses, hidden paths, and layered social networks—and the mix of personalities that inhabit it.Each house in The Warrens has its own identity, often tied to species traits or shared philosophies rather than strict social hierarchies. Some emphasize competition and dominance, others cooperation and community. Nights in The Warrens range from loud, chaotic celebrations to quieter gatherings under lantern-lit courtyards.
Dormitories: Prey & Predator Living
Briarwood takes a unique and thoughtful approach to housing. Dormitories are broadly divided into Prey Residences and Predator Residences, not as a means of segregation, but to provide comfort and reduce instinctual stress—especially for first-year students.
• Prey Dorms are designed with openness and visibility in mind. Buildings feature wide sightlines, multiple exits, soft lighting, and calming natural elements like gardens and water features. Rooms are often clustered to encourage group living and mutual support.
• Predator Dorms emphasize privacy and controlled environments. Lighting is adjustable, spaces are more enclosed, and soundproofing is prioritized. Many include training rooms or outlets for physical energy, helping residents manage instinctive drives in healthy ways.
Upperclassmen have the option to move into Mixed Harmony Housing, where prey and predator demi-humans live together in carefully designed environments that promote trust, coexistence, and social growth.

Basketball – Panthers
The pride of Briarwood. The Panthers basketball program is nationally dominant and culturally iconic on campus. Built around speed, agility, and explosive verticality, the program attracts elite athletes from across all demi lineages. The Den Arena becomes a living force on game nights—roaring crowds, synchronized chants, and high-intensity play that blends instinct with precision.
Key Features:
• Elite training facilities with vertical leap and reflex labs
• Fast-paced, adaptive playstyles suited for diverse demi abilities
• Scholarship and development programs for top recruits

Ice Hockey – Wolves Hockey

• Underground rink with climate-controlled ice conditions
• Emphasis on teamwork, instinctual coordination, and spatial awareness
• Specialized gear for clawed, hooved, and hybrid athletes
Swimming & Aquatics – Tide Division
Flow, depth, and control. The aquatics program at Briarwood is among the most advanced in the country. With deep-water pools, current simulation lanes, and amphibious training zones, it caters to both land-based and water-adapted demis.

• Variable-depth Olympic pools and open-water simulation tanks
• Specialized programs for aquatic and semi-aquatic species

American Football – Briarwood Guardians
Power meets strategy.Briarwood’s football program is a spectacle of controlled chaos—where strength, speed, and tactical intelligence collide.
